Electrical Apprentice (3-4 Year)

As an Apprentice Electrician, you will support on-site electrical trades professionals with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across commercial and multi-unit residential projects.


You will gain hands-on experience, learn industry best practices, and develop your technical skills under the guidance of experienced Journeyperson Electricians. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and multi-unit residential electrical systems in accordance with the BC Electrical Code.

  • Read and interpret basic electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications under the supervision of a Journeyperson Electrician.

  • Assist with installation of conduit, cable tray, wiring, panels, lighting systems, and electrical devices.

  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems as directed.

  • Follow and promote all WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements; participate in Toolbox Talks, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Safe Work Procedures.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, tools, and materials.

  • Assist with meeting project schedules and complete other duties as assigned while developing trade skills.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1–4 years of electrical or construction-related experience preferred.

  • Registered Electrical Apprentice with SkilledTradesBC (or in the process of registering).

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, tools, and safe work practices.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license considered an asset.

  • Occupational First Aid Level 1, WHMIS, and CSTS considered assets.

  • Own basic hand tools (List provided)

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn and advance in the trade.
