Award for Structural Excellence 2017

We are extremely proud to have received a commendation from the Institution of Structural Engineers East Anglian Regional Group for our structural design of a private dwelling in Suffolk.

Craig Carr, the project engineer, was recognised by the judging panel for delivering a high-quality structural solution while working within the tight constraints of the architectural design.

The judges were particularly impressed by the design of the large two-way cantilevering roof overhangs and the innovative use of a steel truss at first floor level to support the structure above frameless corner glazing.

The cantilevering staircase was also highlighted for its elegant structural form.

Craig was presented with the award by Ian Firth, President of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
