New development replacing the older Empire Landmark Building at 1488 Robson
Zenon (previously CES) is so very proud to be a part of the new development replacing the older Empire Landmark Building at 1488 Robson. This historic building is being replaced with two (2) new high-rise buildings, increasing the capacity of the space in this bustling area of the West End.
The two new towers (an East Tower and a West Tower) are a total of 36 floors each, atop a 4 level shared parkade. The Non Market Housing suites are on level 2 – level 9 amongst both towers. Market suites start at level 9 up to Level 36. Construction of this new development has begun, and the completion is estimated for Spring 2024. Zenon Group (previously CES Group) was awarded the Commissioning Authority role the Non-Market Housing at each Tower, and the life safety systems in the shared parkade. This includes the suite ventilation, suite heating, and suite domestic hot water systems, as well as the Parkade Supply, Exhaust, and Transfer fans, Tower Make Up Air Units, Parkade ventilation controls, electrical room cooling and ventilation, and site domestic cold-water distribution.
The new non-market suites within these two new towers including HRV/ERV ventilation for each suite, Unit Heaters and Baseboard Heaters, and simple lighting. The Level 1 Amenity spaces and Admin areas also include Fan Coils that can provide heating and cooling. The towers also have two (2) dedicated make up air units to serve the floors below, and there are numerous parkade fans that will supply air, exhaust air, or transfer air as required. The shared parkade also houses the main electrical and main mechanical rooms that serve each tower. This building also includes high efficiency feature lighting, user-controlled lighting, an emergency power generator to serve both buildings, and full coverage fire alarm system for each building.
The project team includes Asia Standard, Pentre Construction Group, MCMP Architects, Nemetz & Associates, MCW Consultants, ITC Group, True Mechanical, Summit Sheet Metal, Olympic Controls, and Berts Electric.
