New Community Centre Appointment in Capitol Hill, North Burnaby

Zenon Group (previously CES) have recently been engaged as independent commissioning authority for the City of Burnaby.

An impressive and unconventional community center is being developed in Confederation Park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of North Burnaby. Zenon (previously CES) will be integral part of the new development as we are engaged as independent commissioning authority on behalf of the City of Burnaby.

The new 3-level facility will be built adjacent to the existing pool and library and will feature a pair of arc-shaped two-story volumes separated by a site-wide pedestrian promenade, all sitting above a large first floor. It will include two gymnasiums and a fitness center, and also a dedicated seniors’ lounge, and youth lounge with indoor play area.

Outside, the site will feature extensive landscaping with a linear gateway plaza that will lead people from the street through the complex and into the park. A glass-enclosed pedestrian bridge above the promenade will link the arcs together from the third floor.
