Students land dream jobs

Zenon Group (before Superstructures) is proud to support the next generation of talent, helping young people take their first steps into the construction industry through meaningful career opportunities.

Two former students from One Sixth Form College in Ipswich have successfully begun their careers after securing roles with Zenon Group (before Superstructures) and SEH French, following engagement with the New Anglia Enterprise Adviser Network.

James Potter, Managing Director of Zenon Group (before Superstructures), joined the programme in 2018 as an Enterprise Adviser, volunteering his time to support the college in developing its careers provision, raising aspirations, and connecting students with real-world opportunities.

After meeting Liam Swann during a one-to-one session, James offered Liam an interview, leading to his first role within the company. Liam will also receive support towards his degree while working towards qualification as a civil engineer.

Emma West followed a similar path, engaging in one-to-one mentoring sessions to build employability skills. Through this, she was introduced to Simon Girling, Managing Director of SEH French, and has since secured a trainee quantity surveyor role, which includes a funded degree.

The New Anglia Enterprise Adviser Network connects business leaders with schools and colleges to strengthen career pathways for students. At One Sixth Form College the only Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ sixth form in Suffolk, this partnership plays a key role in preparing students for future careers, particularly for those pursuing alternatives to university.

Representatives from the programme highlighted the positive impact of these collaborations, noting how direct engagement with industry helps students gain insight, build confidence, and access valuable opportunities within the region’s growing construction sector.
