Zenon Group (previously CES) will be a pivotal part of this new $371million development as building systems and equipment commissioning advisory consultant.
Replacing the existing surface parking lot and considered as ‘once in a generation investment’ Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Integrated Treatment Centre, also known as 1Door4Care, will improve care for children and youth with complex medical, developmental, behavioral or mental health needs.
Providing advice to the Client with respect to strategic decisions and industry best practices and standards, Zenon Group are aiming to achieve LEED Silver Certification.
The new 200,000 sq-ft six-storey building will be connected by a link to the main hospital and will serve more than 40,000 families every year. It will merge seven care locations, currently leased and spread across Ottawa and will include a multi-use clinic space, a physiotherapy gym, mental health clinics, a space for children and youth with complex emotional needs, state-of-the-art treatment rooms, technology to enable virtual care, family support and community spaces, but also a new 7-storey open-air parking garage for more than 1000 cars.
The new building will incorporate elements of nature such as native plants in the landscaping representing flora and fauna from the Algonquin lands, drawing inspiration from Indigenous Peoples’ connection to the land and is expected to be commissioned by 2028.
