Zenon Group have been appointed to provide Commissioning Services for the new Digital Apron Control Centre at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
Another major airport project in our growing aviation portfolio, Vancouver International Airport is among the first airports in the world to digitalize apron control using a state-of-the-art digital tower platform provided by Indra. YVR manages seven aprons with more than 140 stands, serving over 25 million passengers and up to 300,000 aircraft movements per year.
The new digital apron control system, complete with panoramic and zoom cameras and a 4K video wall, is a fully integrated solution for monitoring and managing apron traffic, aircraft movements, and parking operations around passenger and cargo terminals.
This next-generation “digital tower” will:
Improve real-time coordination with ground operators and NAV CANADA.
Provide automated detection, tracking, and object-following for multiple static and moving targets.
Enhance safety through automated detection of intrusions in sensitive areas.
This project is another example of Zenon Group’s long-standing relationship with YVR and underscores our position as a leading-edge commissioning provider for complex, technology-driven infrastructure.
